Why Teach in Japan? --
" I love challenge and adventure, I love children, and I love teaching, Japan gives me all those things"
What do you like about Abroad Preschool and Kindergarten? --
"At Abroad we have tried to nurture a culture of acceptance, creativity, inquisitiveness, and exploration. Not only do we want our children to learn, but we want to pass on the love of learning. Too often the way of teaching has made it convenient for the teacher but has caused the child to loose the desire to search for answers to the world around them. Here we try to encourage children to ask questions, think for themselves, solve conflicts, and approach life with vigour and excitement. We encourage the exploration of cultures and try to balance athletic, artistic, academic, and social time so that every child can find a way to excel and enjoy life. I believe that Abroad is unique in this approach and it is my goal to help make this school the best international school in all of Japan."

Country of Origin: New Zealand
I am from the Bay of Plenty which is situated on the east coast of the North island of New Zealand. The Bay of Plenty is renowned for its clear blue waters and golden sand beaches as well as its temperate climate which is well suited to horticultural and agricultural activities. In fact, you may have eaten kiwifruit grown in the area.
Why Teach in Japan? --
My quest for knowledge led me to completing degrees in Education and Psychology while raising my family. I believe that only through education can we move forward and that sometimes we need to take chances and move out of our comfort zones, a philosophy that led me to Japan. I am continuing study as time permits. Japan has been a kind experience as the people have been welcoming, warm, and friendly.

Why teach in Japan? --
I chose to live and work in Japan as it is a unique and interesting country. Also it is a great place to bring up my own children.
What do you like about Abroad Preschool and Kindergarten? --
Abroad is a great place to work and focuses on the individual needs of each child. All children are encouraged to learn in a way that suits their personality. As well as the core academic and physical elements, children are encouraged to think individually and creatively and to be independent problem solvers.
