I have been teaching, studying, volunteering, and travelling around the world since 2000. I have taught English as foreign language for over three years in the UK, China, Korea, and Taiwan to students of all ages from 3 to 83 years old. I have lived abroad for years and graduated with a 1st class degree in Mandarin and Management from the University of Central Lancashire in England. I know what it is like to overcome language barriers and greatly enjoys helping others to overcome those same hurdles through teaching.
And I have been involved in community oriented projects from co-founding an animal rescue centre in Taiwan to volunteering at Community Supported Farm in Stroud, England. I based my post-graduate research on the development of community supported agriculture, know in Japan as the Teikei 提携 system, and its links to education in the community.
When not working or studying I like to teach my dogs new tricks, go rock climbing with wife, play the drums, and discover new delicious local things to eat.

私は2000年以来、教師として、学生として、ボランティアとして、世界中を旅してきました。イギリス、中国、韓国、台湾で3歳から83歳までの生徒を対象に、外国語としての英語を教えた経験が3年以上あります。また、海外で暮らした経験もあり、中国語と経営を専攻しイギリスのセントラル・ランカシャー大学を首席で卒業しました。それゆえ言語の壁を乗り越えるということがどういうものかを知り、教師としての仕事を通じて他の人々がこのハードルを乗り越えるのをお手伝いすることに非常にやりがいを感じています。
また、台湾で動物救助センターを共同で設立したり、イギリス・ストラウドのコミュニティー農場でボランティア活動に携わるなど、地域に根ざしたプロジェクトに携わってもきました。大学院での研究は、日本でも「産消提携」として知られる地域密着型農業の発展と、その教育や地域とのつながりについて行いました。
仕事や勉学を離れているときは、愛犬に新しい芸を教えたり、妻とロック･クライミングに出かけたり、ドラムを演奏したり、滞在先で美味しいものを探したりするのが好きです。

Soydan（ソイダン）

子ども英会話、サタデースクール担当講師

Soydan Selamet was born in Istanbul. He started focused studies in education since high school at the age of 15. After graduating from Hacettepe University with a degree in ELT in 2004, he started to work as an English teacher in primary and secondary schools. He worked in the Okayama branch of Abroad for 3 years until he was transferred to Sendai in October 2008. He likes outdoor activities like barbeques, going for drives and cycling. He is good at sketching, and singing. He took part in many big events like concerts in which he was well received by audiences.

イスタンブル生まれのソイダン先生は教育を専攻し始めてきたのは15才からの教育専門高校からでした。2004年、アンカラのハジェッテペ大学で英語教育学部を卒業してから、小学校や中学校で働き、来日しました。アブロードランゲージセンター岡山校で3年働いて、2008年10月に仙台校へ来ました。 BBQ、ドライブ、サイクリングなどアウトドアアクティブティが好きで寸劇や歌が得意です。
